The Tri-County Women's Centre is one of eight women's centres located throughout Nova Scotia. We were established April 2002 through the efforts of the Women for Community Economic Development in Southwest Nova (WCEDSN). We are also a member of Women's Centres CONNECT! .
At the Tri-County Women's Centre we offer
A variety of services, including:
Drop-in and supportive listening
Referrals to other agencies - If you do not know where to go for help we can assist with suggesting where you can go and what organization can help
Advocacy and accompaniment—we will go to an appointment or meeting with you for support including lawyer appointments, Court, Children Family Services, doctors, workers at the Provincial Building, etc
Programs and information
Resource library - books and articles
Community education through presentations
Issues the Women's Centre can assist with:
Poverty and economic concerns - including budgeting
Education and training needs
Legal information (but not legal advice)
Parenting
Housing (rental information including issues with your landlord)
Relationship breakdown and custody ( we can go with you to lawyer appointments and/or to court)
Self-esteem
Health
Sexuality
