Community Based Women's Wellness Clinic and Youth Heath Services
Since moving to our new location a year ago we have been working on expending our space to accommodate a clinic so women and youth have community based access to some basic medical services.
It is our experience that many women do not access pap smear screening and breast examinations because they would prefer a female practitioner.
In partnership with the Carpentry Program at NSCC, construction will resume again this Fall with completion being Spring 2012.
We will be requesting from the South West Nova District Health Authority (SWNDHA) the allocation of Nurse Practitioner hours to the clinic.
Meanwhile we continue to carry out our needs assessment to show the need for a community based Women’s & Youth Health Clinic. If you are a woman or youth (male or female) we need your assistance. Please follow the link below and complete a survey on this topic. We want and need to hear from you! Thank You.
