Collaborative Model of Practice to Respond to Sexual Violence & Bullying in the Tri Counties
In response to the acts of violence endured by a young Nova Scotian woman, Rehtaeh Parsons, which lead to her tragic death, the government of Nova Scotia and community based agencies across the provinces has been working very hard to help prevent future tragedies.
The Women’s Centre is working with all relevant government and community stakeholders across the tri counties to coordinate our intervention and prevention services so we can, as a community, stop the harm and stop the violence. We are calling our approach a Collaborative Model of Practice to Respond to Sexual Violence & Bullying in the Tri Counties.
On behalf of the tri county community, the Women’s Centre is applying to the provincial Action Team on Sexual Violence and Bullying to assist our community in developing and implementing our Collaborative Model.
The reports from the three Stakeholder Forums on Sexual Violence & Bullying, that were hosted by the Tri County Women’s Centre on Sept. 23rd., 24th. 25th. , will be posted on our site in the near future.
